Today's award roundup is a true grab bag — some are winners, some are contenders; some are formal awards, while others are celebrations of popularity.

  • Paul Murray (The Bee Sting), Fern Brady (Strong Female Character), Michael Magee (Close To Home), and Beth Lincoln (The Swifts) have won the inaugural Nero Book Awards for fiction, nonfiction, debut fiction, and children's fiction, respectively (The Guardian).

  • The 2024 Audie Award finalists have been announced, along with a few category changes; the winners will be revealed March 4 (Book Riot).

  • The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has given $5.7 million to The Academy of American Poets, a gift that will continue to support the organization's poet laureate program along with other programming (NPR).

  • Electric Literature celebrates four years of the website Bookshop by looking at which books its readers most often purchased from the site (Electric Literature).

  • Isabelle Popp highlights twelve of the best award-winning romance novels, from various years and various award-granting organizations (Book Riot).
