Literary Hub had two excerpts from Tuesday releases that we’re just getting around to sharing.
Leaving by Roxana Robinson is the story of Sarah and Warren, whose college romance ended abruptly; they do find each other decades later, though their circumstances don’t make a reunion clean and easy.
Head to Lit Hub to read an excerpt of Leaving.
Neighbors and Other Stories by Diane Oliver, meanwhile, is a new release but dates way, way back.
The author died in 1966 at the incredibly young age of twenty-two, with just a handful of short stories published.
Those tales of daily life in the Jim Crow era are now collected in one place, with an introduction by Tayari Jones, as Neighbors and Other Stories.
Read from the story "Frozen Voices" at Lit Hub.
