Enjoy excerpts from three spring releases: Fury, written by Clyo Mendoza and translated by Christina MacSweeney; A Short Walk Through a Wide World by Douglas Westerbeke; and The Good Deed by Helen Benedict.

Fury, which is Mendoza's debut novel, came out in English on March 5.

The novel takes place in war-torn desert towns and explores the romantic exploits of mentally and physically wounded men who find themselves there.

The novel follows a nine-year-old Parisian girl who discovers that her body begins to fail if she doesn't keep on the move constantly.
