Literary Hub highlighted two excerpts today.

One is a new release: Shae by Mesha Maren.

The novel is the story of Cam and Shae, who meet as teenagers in a small West Virginia town and conceive a child together ... which sets off major physical and emotional changes for both of them.

Here's the excerpt of Shae.

The other is an older (though not old) novel that's back in the spotlight for winning this year's Dublin Literary Award.

Solenoid, written by Mircea Cărtărescu and translated by Sean Cotter, takes us back into the Romania of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Here's the excerpt of Solenoid.
