We have all sorts of previews and announcements for literature and its adaptations today.
Out today: The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman and The Black Bird Oracle by Deborah Harkness.
Literary Hub has the excerpt of The Bright Sword, which is a retelling of the King Arthur legend, and Entertainment Weekly has the excerpt of The Black Bird Oracle, which continues the story of witch Diana Bishop and vampire Matthew de Clairmont.
Coming out April 8: Happy Land by Dolen Perkins-Valdez.
People has the excerpt of Happy Land, which follows a modern-day woman who learns about a 19th-century kingdom — within the US — of Black survivors of slavery.
Brandon Taylor has two new pieces of nonfiction coming out, too, according to Publishers Weekly.
Neither is titled, but the first — a literary and cultural critique — is estimated to come in fall 2026; the second, a work on the craft of writing, is predicted for fall 2027.
