Excerpts galore: August 13, 2024

We have three release-day excerpts to share, plus one from last week. 

The latter first: Great Fear on the Mountain, written by Charles Ferdinand Ramuz and translated by Bill Johnston.

The novel takes place in a rural Swiss village, where the younger men decide against the elder men's advice to bring their hungry livestock up a mountain said to hide lush pastures.
