Yesterday we got big book-prize news, in the form of the Booker Prize shortlist.

Today's honorees are a little more niche, but certainly still worth celebrating.

Nadia Davids's short story "Bridling" has won the Caine Prize for African Writing, which comes with £10,000 ($13,155); the Guardian reports that a record 320 entries were under consideration from twenty-eight countries.

Book Riot shared a link to read "Bridling" online in the Georgia Review.

The winners of the Ignatz Awards, which honor indie comics, small press graphic novels, and minicomics, were announced over the weekend; head to Book Riot to see which works fans selected as tops in their field.
