Best-of-2024 book lists: December 18, 2024

Keeping up with the year-end best-of lists is impossible, but here's our latest try.

• Forty-nine contemporary poets share the best poems they read this year, and all of the selections are free to read online (Literary Hub).

• These novels won major literary book prizes in 2024 (Book Marks).

• The New Yorker, People, Vox, and Vulture all released best-of-2024 lists.

• And Book Riot has been issuing its favorite picks by genre, including but probably not limited to science fiction, book club, historical fiction, comics/graphic novels, and queer books.
