  • A lawsuit against Idaho’s book-banning bill — specifically, its provisions for removing books from school and public libraries — has been filed, with the Authors Guild, several publishers, multiple bestselling authors, a school district, a teacher, two students, and two parents serving as plaintiffs (Book Riot).

  • Author Neil Gaiman and his estranged wife Amanda Palmer are being sued by their child's former nanny for human trafficking; neither defendant has issued a new comment, but Gaiman has previously denied rape and sexual abuse allegations, while Palmer has said she is "profoundly disturbed" by them and asked for privacy (NPR).

  • Shark Teeth by Sherri Winston and Black Girl You Are Atlas, written by Renée Watson and illustrated by Ekua Holmes, are the teen and younger-reader winners of the 2025 Walter Dean Myers Awards for Outstanding Children's Literature, respectively (School Library Journal).

  • Martha Stewart's first book, Entertaining, is returning to print after a long hiatus; demand for the rare copies has been high as younger generations discover Stewart via popular documentaries (The New York Times).
