Here's a roundup of news on adaptations or productions of literature.

  • Author Alexis Hall is reimagining Moby Dick; the novel Hell's Heart, coming out February 19, recasts Ishmael as a trans woman and the Pequod as a spaceship (Reactor).

  • Marilynne Robinson’s Gilead books are coming to the screen; Martin Scorsese will serve as writer, producer, and director of the movie versions, and Leonardo DiCaprio will star in the first film installment, which is actually the second book, Home (Book Riot).

  • Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, and Amanda Doyle are turning their smash hit (and Fussy favorite) podcast We Can Do Hard Things into a book of the same title; the book, providing "answers to life's twenty questions" draws on the experts they've interviewed and comes out May 6 (Penguin Random House).
