Today's news of literary awards and honors mixes winners and contenders.

  • The six novels and authors still in the running for the Women's Prize for Fiction have been revealed; a winner will be announced June 12 (The Guardian). 

  • Stacie Shannon Denetsosie, Megan Howell, Maggie Millner, Alexander Sammartino, and Jemimah Wei have been chosen as the National Book Foundation's 5 Under 35 honorees (Literary Hub). 

  • Bullaun Press has won the Republic of Consciousness prize for small presses; the winning title was There’s a Monster Behind the Door, written by Gaëlle Bélem and translated from French by Karen Fleetwood and Laëtitia Saint-Loubert (The Guardian).
