This update from the stacks isn't the cheeriest one we've ever shared, but it's important news to know.

  • Kelly Jensen opens her weekly roundup of book censorship news with resources to understand the Supreme Court's opinion in Mahmoud v. Taylor (Book Riot).

  • Her colleague Katie McLain Horner collects library news from across the country (Book Riot).

  • An additional piece of news that didn't make either of those posts comes out of New Hampshire, where the governor has signed into law a bill that opens a minor's library records to their parent or legal guardian (Literary Hub).

  • The most uplifting piece in this collection comes last: Charlie Kaufman's short film How to Shoot a Ghost is going straight to the streaming service Kanopy, available at many public libraries (IndieWire).
