  • A collection of rare books and author letters, stolen from a former US ambassador's home in the 1980s, has been recovered; the items include eight letters from poet John Keats to his muse, several letters from writer Oscar Wilde including some written from jail, and an 1898 copy of occultist Aleister Crowley's White Stains (The Guardian).

  • The Center for the Art of Translation has raised enough money to announce plans for a permanent location in downtown San Francisco (Literary Hub).

  • Veronica Roth is writing new Divergent books ... in that they're the same universe, but they feature protagonist Tris Prior experiencing an alternate history (Book Riot).

  • The American Booksellers Association says about 422 indie bookshops opened last year, representing a 31 percent rise from 2024 (The Guardian).

  • Shawn Hatosy, star of the TV show The Pitt, will narrate a two-episode immersive romance story called "Yes, Chef," available on the audio erotica app Quinn (The Hollywood Reporter).

  • The teaser trailer for Practical Magic 2, based on Alice Hoffman's novels, is out (YouTube).
