  • Read an excerpt from Life Out of Order, Audrey Niffenegger's sequel to The Time Traveler’s Wife, which is also getting a special collector's edition; Life Out of Order comes out October 26 (Reactor).

  • Also out this fall: a new series of middle-grade novels from Rick Riordan; the Percy Jackson author will collaborate with different co-authors on four Camp Half-Blood books, beginning with The Wild Zone, written with Annabelle Oh and releasing September 29 (The Associated Press).

  • A Utah woman has gained media attention for crediting Sarah J. Maas’s epic romantasy series, A Court of Thorns and Roses, for helping her recognize unhealthy behaviors in her relationship with her now-ex-boyfriend (Metro).

  • The Booker Foundation will offer a Children's Booker Prize next year, and the search for young judges (to accompany the adult judging panel) is underway (MSN).

  • The latest list of the best 100 English-language novels of all time is in the process of releasing, with books 100 to 81 out now (The Guardian).

  • Sarah Wynn-Williams (Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed and Lost Idealism) and the late Virginia Giuffre (Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice) are the first-ever joint winners of the Freedom to Publish prize (The Guardian).

  • Marianne Boruch has received the Jackson Poetry Prize and its $100,000 purse from Poets & Writers magazine (Literary Hub).
