Artificial intelligence has been all over the bookish news lately. Here are a few such stories that stood out to us.

  • Steven Rosenbaum — author of The Future of Truth, a nonfiction book about AI's effects on truth — has admitted that some quotes in his book were either misattributed or made up by AI (The New York Times).

  • Authors and publishers want YouTube to take action against the flood of AI-narrated, pirated audiobooks on the video site (The New York Times).

  • The Anthropic copyright-violation lawsuit settlement has cleared a fairness hearing, with 93 percent of eligible titles expected to receive a payout (Alliance of Independent Authors).

  • It turns out that three of the five regional winners of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize are facing allegations of AI use (Wired).
