School’s back in session, and that means Tucked-In Tuesdays have returned.

If you missed earlier coverage of them, Tucked-In Tuesdays are the brainchild of a Texas elementary school principal.

Dr. Belinda George, who works at Homer Drive Elementary in Beaumont, Texas, began reading a weekly bedtime story on Facebook Live in December 2018.

The idea took off — viewers hail from around the country, not just southeast Texas — as George made sure to incorporate costumes that fit with the books she read.

George explained to the Washington Post that if she doesn’t connect with students outside of the classroom, she can’t reach them there.

Tucked-In Tuesday videos also promote family time, since parents tune in with their kids.

You can watch past Tucked-In Tuesdays on Homer Drive Elementary’s Facebook page (or begin watching new ones), and read more about George and her school in For Reading Addicts (which links to the original Washington Post article).
