Today in items you can’t afford: Ian Fleming’s letters to his wife, Ann, are headed to auction.

The Guardian reports that Sotheby’s is selling more than 160 letters between the couple, with bids beginning December 3.

All five hundred-plus pages, a mixed of handwritten and typed epistles, are expected to bring in £200,000 to £300,000 (about $257,000 to $386,000) and must be sold together.

According to the Guardian, the letters begin when Ann Fleming was married to another man and continued over twenty years during Ian Fleming’s own affairs  – and his rise to literary fame as the creator of James Bond.
