Don’t worry if you’re firmly anti-technology — half of this post is how tech is powering books, instead of the other way around.

Specifically, Flatiron Books is partnering with iHeart Radio to launch the Stuff You Should Read: An iHeartBook imprint.

The imprint’s first release, Stuff You Should Know: An Incomplete Compendium of Mostly Interesting Things, will come out September 29.

Podcast fans can probably guess that it will be written by Stuff You Should Know podcast hosts Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant.

The Associated Press story didn’t mention specific plans for other podcasts in the family, including Fussy favorite Stuff You Missed In History Class, but here’s hoping!

But, on the other hand, if you were looking for a modern twist on something classic, Mental Floss has just the news for you.

There’s a new app that will read Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales to you in its original Middle English.

(It has a desktop version as well.)

So far, the researchers who developed it have only converted the General Prologue, which is about forty-five minutes long, but they have plans to create at least two more readings.
