The finalists for the 2020 Hugo Awards have been announced.

-
The Ten Thousand Doors of January, by Alix E. Harrow.
-
The Light Brigade, by Kameron Hurley.
-
A Memory Called Empire, by Arkady Martine.
-
Middlegame, by Seanan McGuire.
-
Gideon the Ninth, by Tamsyn Muir.
The Hugos have been celebrating the best in science fiction and fantasy since 1953; see the many other nominees in such categories as best novella, best editor, best artist, best graphic story or comic, and more on the Hugo Awards' website.
In less toast-worthy news, the Pulitzer Prizes have been pushed back, from April 20 to May 4.
The reason? Journalists who serve on the Pulitzer board have, um, other tasks on their plates right now and need more time to evaluate the award nominees.
