Atlas Obscura has an update on the sale of Isaac Newton’s plague notes.

Newton’s scribblings as he read Jan Baptist van Helmont’s Tumulus pestis, which discusses the bubonic plague, sold for over $81,000 earlier this month.

The notes were mostly in Latin, with some Greek, and had been expected to bring in between $80,000 and $120,000.

The Guardian shared some highlights (or lowlights) of what resonated with the young scholar, in previewing the auction.

It's unappetizing — consider yourself warned.
