Another William Wordsworth home has hit the literary headlines.

This time it’s not his Cumbrian cottage, but rather a Somerset mansion surrounded by acres of parks and gardens.

The Somerset County Gazette reports that Wordsworth’s Alfoxton Park will become a Buddhist retreat center after undergoing renovations.

Alfoxton Park, in addition to being Wordsworth’s home, was where his friend Samuel Taylor Coleridge first read his “Rime of the Ancient Mariner.”

Check out photos of Alfoxton Park and learn more about its history and sale in the Somerset County Gazette.
