We have more bad news for fantasy fans today.

Amazon’s Lord of The Rings TV show, which will tell the story of Middle Earth before JRR Tolkien’s beloved trilogy takes place, issued a casting call for actors who are “comfortable with nudity,” according to The Sun.

That news comes after reports that the production team now includes an intimacy coordinator — that is, a staffer who helps actors and actresses feel safe during sex scenes.

The Sun didn’t have any comment from Amazon, but it certainly found Tolkien fans to express their dismay over these reports.

Many of them accused Amazon of trying to capitalize on the popularity of Game of Thrones, an adaptation of a fantasy book series that contained plenty of adult material, despite LOTR being famously sexless.

You can read more about the pushback in The Sun, though we will warn you that the article includes very suggestive stills from the Game of Thrones TV series.

Amazon's Lord of the Rings show is expected to be released in 2021.
