The Netflix adaptation of Rebecca hit select theaters today, with a streaming release set for next week.

Given that the Chicago Tribune’s movie critic gave the movie just 1.5 stars, though, we won’t spend much time on the new film.

Instead, we’ll share something much more to our fans’ liking: an article on Menabilly, the house that inspired Manderley.

Tatler shares some photos of author Daphne Du Maurier at Menabilly, which she was actually able to rent for twenty-six years, and a little bit about how she found the house and what else besides Manderley it inspired.
