Barry Lopez, who recently won the Writer in the World Prize and received National Book Award love in the past, has died.

His wife confirmed that he passed away Christmas Day at the age of seventy-five.

Taylor was known and loved for his writings about nature and our relationship to it, with his notable works including Arctic Dreams (winner of the National Book Award) and Of Wolves and Men (a National Book Award finalist).

Literary Hub has an obituary for Taylor and NPR has a reflection that calls back to reporter Dave Blanchard's 2019 interview with the author.
