Are your scenes the right shapes?

If you found a recent post about story shapes to be helpful or interesting, we have another variation on that theme for you.

Editor and writing coach Lisa Cooper Ellison observes that scenes, too, have shapes, some of which are less than ideal.

She argues that a pear-shaped scene is the goal, while funnels, wind tunnels, kites, and watermelons should be revised.
