John Steinbeck’s summer home is for sale, though given its charm, we doubt the well-off will leave it that way for long.

The New York Times reports that the cottage in Sag Harbor, New York, sits on 1.8 acres of land and is listed for $17.9 million.

Also on the property: Steinbeck’s “writing house” and a guest cottage.

The author described the Sag Harbor home in his book Travels with Charley and wrote his final novel, The Winter of Our Discontent, in it, using the town as the basis of the novel’s setting.

Steinbeck — a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner — is best known for The Grapes of WrathOf Mice and Men, and East of Eden.
