Writer Michael Rosen is among the many who were unfortunate enough to contract COVID-19 — yet among those who were fortunate enough to survive.

He spent almost fifty days in intensive care, some of them in an induced coma, and upon regaining his health decided to write about his experience to help make sense of it.

You can read an excerpt from Many Different Kinds of Love, which comes out on March 18, in the Guardian, which also has an interview with the author.

Rosen is also well known for children’s fare like We’re Going on a Bear Hunt (which itself became part of the lockdown experience for many parents) and other spiritual works like Carrying the Elephant: A Memoir of Love and Loss and Michael Rosen’s Sad Book.
