The house where Agatha Christie lived for over forty years — and wrote some of her most famous crime novels — is up for sale.
The BBC reports that the current residents of Winterbrook House in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, are looking to sell it for at least £2.75 million (about $3.31 million).
In addition to serving as Christie’s home and workplace, the house is believed to have inspired Miss Marple's house, Danemead.
More than 100 million copies of Christie’s works — seventy-five novels and over a dozen short-story collections — have been sold, making her the bestselling novelist of all time and most translated writer of all time; some of her most famous books include And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express, and The ABC Murders.
