Over the past month, Kristine Kathryn Rusch has been releasing business musings posts focused on the relationship between writers and Hollywood.

Hollywood is, in her words, an imperfect shorthand to describe all of the entities that could create a visual adaptation of your written work.

But regardless of whether it's a streaming service, a traditional TV show, or a film designed for theaters, Rusch wants to make sure writers understand the value of their existing work and how to reap the profits from it in the long term.

The series has four parts — A Cautionary Tale; Content, Content, Content; Writing Screenplays; and Money (in that order) — all of which dispel myths authors might have about screen adaptations and provide guidance on negotiating.
