We typically hear about grandparents bragging up their grandchildren far more often than the reverse.

That makes the tale of Gordon McCulloch and Jessica Keachie even more charming, in our opinion.

The former is a nonagenarian Scottish widower who self-published 101 Poems last month.

The latter is his granddaughter whose tweet asking followers to pick up a copy of the book went viral, launching McCulloch to lofty spots on Amazon's UK and US charts.

McCulloch’s son William told the Guardian that his father — who sought publication for a long time — was thrilled with the sales.

“He’s had a wee tear in his eye, these things give him a boost,” William McCulloch said. “What I’ve noticed is he’s got a wee spring in his step as well.”
