New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is refusing to share records related to his memoir, American Crisis: Leadership Lessons From the COVID-19 Pandemic, with journalists and thus with the public.
That's according to Literary Hub’s latest summary of the scandal, which centers on whether Cuomo used government staffers to work on the book — a violation of state law.
Cuomo’s office told the Albany (New York) Times Union that sharing timesheets for certain aides would “interfere with law enforcement investigations.”
The newspaper believes this refers to an impeachment probe into the governor.
American Crisis drew attention for a number of reasons, including its publication date (before the COVID-19 crisis was over) and the $5.1 million advance it netted Cuomo.
