Kris Rusch’s fear-based decision series continues with an examination of traditionally published writers.

In it, she compares a writer friend who has spent six years revising a single book, per her agent’s demands, to indie author Lindsay Buroker, who has spent the past six years writing — and selling — multiple books.

Why would anyone choose the former route rather than the latter? Fear, says Rusch.

Not all authors trust themselves to competently handle such tasks as contract negotiation and marketing, in addition to mastering the craft of writing.

Head to Rusch’s blog to see the statistics and arguments that illustrate why this is so unfortunate.
