A common topic in posts from self-publishing experts is fear.

In this one, Joanna Penn and Orna Ross remind writers that fear of change is a completely natural emotion (and a useful one, evolutionarily speaking).

What’s important, though, is not to quickly just give in to that fear and allow it to negatively influence your decisions.

Penn and Ross briefly discuss how to process and overcome fear of change in the first part of a recent Alliance of Independent Authors podcast, before exploring what changes to expect in the world of indie publishing and how to prepare for them.

You can read a transcript of their conversation about why indie authors should embrace change on ALLI’s blog, where you can also listen to the podcast episode instead (or in addition).
