The New York State Assembly has released a report on its impeachment investigation into former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and it’s not pretty.

Among the many accusations that it supports: Cuomo made his state staff help with duties related to his memoir, American Crisis: Leadership Lessons From the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The governor had repeatedly claimed, through representatives, that the work was voluntary or insignificant (and continued to do so after the report was released).

Politico highlights some key quotes from the report that dispute Cuomo’s claim (as well as the other conclusions about COVID-19 deaths and sexual misconduct).

The site notes that New York’s state Joint Commission on Public Ethics has already revoked its authorization for Cuomo to make outside income from the memoir, over the state staffers’ complaints.

That means, according to Politico, that the board could try to force Cuomo to hand over his $5.1 million advance for writing the book.
