Happy release day to Marlon James!

Moon Witch, Spider King — the latest novel from the award-winning and bestselling author — came out today.

NPR's Michel Martin had a chance to speak with him before the book, the sequel to his National Book Award finalist novel, Black Leopard, Red Wolf.

Moon Witch retells that book, but from the perspective of Sogolon, the adversary of Tracker in the previous novel. (And for what it's worth, NPR's book reviewer says it's a rare sequel that improves on the original novel!)

James was one of the lucky writers, as it turns out, whose creativity and productivity actually benefited from the coronavirus lockdowns.

He shares more on that as well as details from the writing process in the interview, which you can read on NPR's website.
