The literary community banded together last year to host online fundraisers to help vaccinate the world against COVID-19.

So of course they're rising to the current occasion, with a similar fundraiser for Ukraine.

The Guardian reports that the literary agent who organized the Book Aid For Ukraine auction was astounded at the kinds of offers she received.

Items or services up for bid include lunch at the Ritz with Pillars of the Earth author Ken Follett; naming rights to characters from multiple authors; signed copies of The Storyteller by Dave Grohl and Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart; and tickets to Stuart's upcoming launch for Young Mungo.

As of noon today, the auction was set to bring in over £40,000 ($52,200) — and the auction closes Sunday.

Another way to help is to moonlight as a digital archivist (or do it in your spare time, if that's your day job).

Librarians, archivists, researchers, and programmers have come together to form a group called Saving Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Online.

SUCHO's goal is to preserve websites, digital content, and data in Ukrainian cultural heritage institutions.

Information on specific duties and how to join is on SUCHO's website.
