Production has begun on the animated adaptation of "Animal Farm"

Production is under way on a new animated adaptation of Animal Farm.

This version of George Orwell's classic dystopian tale will still be directed by Andy Serkis, who's known for a number of performances including Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies.

However, it's no longer being done for Netflix, which had previously also acquired another literary film directed by Serkis (Mowgli).

Deadline has more production information on the animated Animal Farm, but no release date or voice actor details.
