Surprising or to be totally expected?
Author Jumi Bello wrote a confessional essay exploring the reasons why she plagiarized parts of her debut novel, which was pulled from publication last February, and shared that essay with Literary Hub yesterday.
Except ... as it turned out ... Bello plagiarized parts of that essay, titled “I Plagiarized Parts of My Debut Novel. Here’s Why."
Lit Hub pulled the essay down upon discovering this and posted a statement acknowledging the removal.
The Associated Press reports that Bello didn't respond to a request for comment.
