BookTok has gone corporate.

Last week, according to Digiday, publisher Penguin Random House struck a deal with TikTok that allows people to link to books in videos using the #BookTok hashtag.

That will, in turn, send users to a page with more information about the book and more videos about it.

It's anyone's guess, of course, as to whether the micro-influencers hired by the publishing company will successfully lure in users or turn them off — you can read plenty of speculation about the PRH-TikTok deal from internal and external marketers.
