What scam artists are looking for in the writers they target

Writer Beware has done an incredible job of educating authors about how to spot a scam.

They're, of course, not the only ones alerting writers about particular scams and general trends.

Recently, Penny Sansevieri and her fellow podcaster Amy Cornell took a short dive into the world of writing scams.

You can listen to their podcast episode on the topic, but we also wanted to highlight some of the show notes they shared on the Author Marketing Experts blog.

There, Sansevieri lists a few author characteristics or behaviors that can catch a scammer's eye.

Not to say any scam victim is to blame — but it never hurts to know your own vulnerabilities.
