Those who enjoy a little levity with their writing advice are in luck today.

Jane Friedman has an excerpt from Good Naked: How to Write More, Write Better, and Be Happier by Joni B. Cole.

In it, Cole tackles the dilemma of having a good idea ... without the ability to take action and start writing the story.

The advice, in a nutshell, is to simply start writing whatever part of the story speaks to you, versus trying to nail the beginning (though you'll have to do that later).

But even though we spoiled the ending, be sure to check out the excerpt on getting started on your story idea from Good Naked, if for no other reason than the jokes about royalty and wildlife.
