Cartoonist Kate Wheeler was raised in a house without a television. 

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, she and her brother spent plenty of time reading.

But they realized that there was one advantage that TV had over print books — the ability to experience a story together, in real time.

Enter books on tape.

Wheeler sketched out this quick ode to audiobooks in a comic for NPR.
