The publishing experts we follow have plenty of business and marketing advice and news to offer.

Here are the ones that we thought were can't-miss for our authors:

  • Three lessons from Amy Chan's book launch: You may have seen author Amy Chan's complaint about the return on her book launch investment; Jane Friedman flagged a response from author Leigh Stein that was, in her opinion, worth checking out (Attention Economy on Substack).

  • When should you hire a book marketing company?: Penny Sansevieri shares nine signs that an author might need professional help, along with reasons that they should wait (Author Marketing Experts).

  • Two surveys of note on audiobooks: Dan Holloway summarizes (and links to further details on) two surveys, one of which that found listeners credit audiobooks with better well-being, and the other of which discovered that they aren't as opposed to AI narration as one might think (Alliance of Independent Authors).
