Also in the “not an April Fools’ Day joke” category: A rare early copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was sold at auction for almost $100,000 on Monday.

(In the U.S., that’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. But you knew that already.)

Bonhams Auction House said the copy — which includes a few typos, such as a misspelling of “philosopher” on the back cover — belonged to author J.K. Rowling's first literary agency.

About five hundred such copies of the book exist.
