To our great chagrin, yesterday was the 94th anniversary of The Great Gatsby’s publication, and we didn’t even celebrate it.

(Though we did at least think about it as we approached a particular flashing light on a stop sign, which we long ago connected to the orgiastic green light on the Buchanans’ dock, in our hometown.)

The folks at Book Marks, though, were more on top of this occasion and dug up opposing reviews of The Great Gatsby, for readers’ amusement.

Read what F. Scott Fitzgerald’s contemporaries thought of his work and tell us (or Book Marks) which review you think makes the better case.
