August may be well under way, but we’re not willing to concede that summer road-trip season is over.

If you’re on the same page as us, check out Atlas Obscura’s “obsessively detailed” map of literary road trips around the U.S.

Authors represented include, of course, Cheryl Strayed (Wild) and Jack Kerouac (On the Road), but also works from F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Cruise of the Rolling Junk), John Steinbeck (Travels with Charley in Search of America), and Mark Twain (Roughing It).

And do share your experiences with any aspect of these trips.
