October has been a good month for musician memoirs: singer-songwriter Liz Phair and Blondie lead singer Debbie Harry have both released books.

Harry’s Face It: A Memoir, is already a bestseller; you can listen to Harry discuss her book with Steve Inskeep on NPR’s Morning Edition, or read the Guardian’s review for a much deeper dive into it.

Phair’s Horror Stories takes a different approach, choosing to focus on particular dark moments versus her fame or rise to it.

Read NPR's review of Horror Stories or listen to an interview with Phair to learn more about the book.
