Tomi Adeyemi burst onto the literary scene in spectacular fashion.

Her YA novel Children of Blood and Bone has been a bestseller for nearly two years, landed on best-of lists, and was optioned for film by Disney.

Not bad for a twenty-four-year-old author, right?

No surprise, then, that Adeyemi is returning to that fantasy world, with a sequel — Children of Virtue and Vengeance — coming out tomorrow.

Adeyemi shared her inspiration for both books and how their world has evolved in a recent interview with NPR.

Listen to her conversation with Lulu Garcia-Navarro below or read it on NPR’s website.
