In any time of crisis, the urge to help is natural.

But in a pandemic, for instance, the way to help may elude those of us who aren’t health care workers.

Margaret Atwood, beloved author of The Handmaid’s Tale and many other novels, reflects on the simple and safe ways we can all contribute to bringing life back to normal.

And these steps will not only help others during the crisis, but they'll also help ensure that what we love and miss will still be there when we emerge.
