Eager to think about the future? Here are two awards to transport you there.
The longlist for the 2021 Joyce Carol Oates Prize has been revealed.
The $50,000 prize, sponsored by the Simpson Literary Project, honors a distinguished midcareer author of fiction.
A shortlist is expected in March with a winner announced in April.
We also have the candidates for the 2022 Hans Christian Andersen Award.
The biannual award recognizes lifelong achievement in children's literature and goes to the combination of an author and his/her illustrator.
Sixty-two candidates from thirty-three countries are in the running, though we won't know the shortlist until January 2022 with the winners being revealed in March or April 2022.
